What's the deal with the cash back sites? - sweet honeybee health
Okay, so what’s with those cash back sites? You know, the ones that say they will pay you to shop? How is that even possible!? When I discovered those cash back sites like Ebates and BeFrugal. At first, I was skeptical. “Do I need to pay a fee?”, “What’s the catch?”, I would ask myself. I kept seeing the ads and thinking that they were a scam of some sort or maybe they would ask you to pay in somehow and THEN you would make cash back. I asked a few friends who told me about them and they told me there was no catch and no fees. Just shop and earn money. Being the skeptic that I am I would ask, “How could be this possible?”. A company that basically pays you to shop? I don’t get it. There’s no way this is legit. So i tried it. Reluctantly. I went to Ebates first. I went to a site i buy from frequently. I had to use a link from Ebates and I made a very small purchase. Soon after, i was told I had money. So for instance, I purchased $10 product from the store and I get 2% cashback. It may not sound like much, but if you buy online a lot, it adds up. I wasn’t asked for a fee or made to pay anything. I kept using it and eventually I had about $15 in my ebates account. Then I got a check. Yup, a real check. I deposited it and bam! $15 in my bank account. Just like that. It was pretty shocking. I kept using it and kept making more money. So I wondered how it works that a company can pay me to shop. Aren’t they losing money? So here is how it works, basically a store pays a commission to Ebates or BeFrugal for sending their customers to the stores. So as a Plant Therapy customer, if I use Ebates, Ebates gets a commission for sending me to Plant Therapy and Ebates shares that commission with me. So it’s kind of a win-win. Ebates profits, the store I go to profits and I profit! Okay, so you may be asking, “Yeah but what is 10 cents or 20 cents, it doesn’t seem worth it for such a little amount?”. I get it! I really do and I thought the same thing, but think of it this way. You click the ebates link, it takes you to a store you buy from already, you make a purchase, you get moeny in your ebates account, then when you hit a balance of $10, you get paid by check or paypal. There is really no effort in it. I have made over $90 so far and have $28 in my account from ebates and $12 in my BeFrugal. Also, each program has a referral bonus. If you sign up, share your link and your friend signs up and makes a purchase, you get $25 from ebates or $15 from befrugal. Another win! I use it all the time and especially around the holidays because I personally hate going to stores and shopping online cuts back on my anxiety and finding a parking space!
